Praying Mantis

It's a Praying Mantis .....

This is really one of the best parts about living out here. Julianna loves finding bugs and stuff. Daddy brought this one up to the back porch for us to watch. I think it was watching us more.

Kindergarten

The day finally arrived. KINDERGARTEN. It was a very exciting morning getting up and going out to the end of the drive to wait for the school bus. Julianna was ready to start last year and is more than ready this year. I can only hope that she doesn't lose her excitement for school. At least not too soon. Kasia wasn't too sad when the bus pulled away -- I think that was because she had her own snack and juice box waiting for her back at the house.

Garden Goodies

So many goodies from our garden. The girls love seeing what daddy is pulling out of the leaves. They want more watermelons. Jason is already planning next year's space.

Gary & Suzie's Wedding Weekend

Baltimore, MD August 18th

Jason and I had so much fun seeing old friends at the rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception that we didn't take any pictures --- except this one of us. I can get him out of a t-shirt and jeans on occasion. The girls hung out at Aunt Reenie and Uncle Ralph's playing in the pool and having a good ole' time. It was nice having adults only time two days in a row. Sunday morning brunch gave the girls time to visit with Aunt Robyn, Uncle Jeff and Rylie. They had a lot of fun seeing Rylie again.

Here's a video of the girls playing.

Sibling Tour at Martha Jefferson Hospital

The hospital we will delivering the newest Baby Buyaki had a Sibling Tour in August. The kids were able to take a favorite doll and peek in the nursery at a brand new, crying baby.

Cousin Rien Sleepover

Cousin Rien came over for a couple nights. We had fun playing in the big tub with bubbles. Also had lots of fun with arts and crafts.

Beach Week

We (the girls and I) spent a whole week at Sandbridge Beach, VA with Aunt Doreen, Uncle Ralph and Aunt Sharon. Jason took us down and then came back for a couple days at the end of the week. This was our first trip to Sandbridge (about 20 min. south of VA Beach) and we loved everything about it.

I think Julianna's favorite part was waking up very early to see the sunrise with Daddy. Kasia loved playing in the sand. Jason loved playing in the waves (this was only his second time at a beach with real waves). He also liked chasing after the ghost crabs when the sun started to go down.

When Jason returned, we did take a mini hike through Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. It was very, very hot and we didn't see any wildlife, but it was a nice little park. Our other little trip was up to Virginia Beach for Hermit Crabs. The girls think they are pretty cool, but need to do more stuff than hang out in the shell.
